5 Most Common Lies Told by SEO Companies to Swindle Their Clients

I've worked in and around search engine optimization (SEO) for several years now. But what never ceases to amaze me are the half-truths and outright lies that so many SEO companies use to rope in clients and take their money.

Unfortunately, there is no barrier to entry within the SEO field, or the Internet marketing field as a whole. Anyone can "hang out their sign" and proclaim to be an expert. Thus, it's up to the reputable SEO folks out there (and I throw my own hat into this lot) to raise the bar, set the standards, and call out the shady firms who would bring down our collective reputation.

Here's my little contribution to that end.

Five of the most common lies used by SEO firms to dupe their clients:

1. You need a brand new website ... yours is not "search engine friendly."

This is usually a ploy used by "full-service" Internet marketing firms to extract large (and often unnecessary) design fees from clients. Anybody in the search engine optimization field knows that a complete redesign for SEO purposes is usually unnecessary, at best, and possibly even bad for business. If a website has structural problems that impede its search engine performance, they can almost always be resolved with minor changes to the site.

There are plenty of good reasons to redesign a website. Often, websites need to be redesigned because their designs are outdated, or because they create usability problems for visitors. But redesigning from the ground up simply to make the site more "search engine friendly" is a bogus notion used for money-making purposes. If your Internet marketing firm tells you this, you should fire them for gross incompetence.

2. People do not read website content ... they only scan it.

Some web marketing and SEO firms will espouse this nonsense because (A) they lack in-house writing talent and (B) they plan to "keyword stuff" pages for SEO purposes to the point of creating repulsive gibberish.

"We will use the same keywords over and over, you see. And the search engines will love it, you see. And you'll get top rankings for that phrase. You see?"

What these companies neglect to tell their clients is that (A) all interested consumers will reach a reading stage at some point; (B) keyword-redundant content usually comes off like a five-year-old wrote it, thus repelling those interested consumers; and (C) keyword repetition alone will not bring search engine success.

3. SEO will generate a ton of leads for you!

Search engine optimization can generate traffic, but it cannot produce web leads or inquiries. This is one of the most common misconceptions in website marketing. I've spoken to business owners who had thousands of website visitors each month, but rarely got any leads or inquiries from their website. The simple reason was that they had no lead-generation mechanisms in place.

If you pour a lot of money into an SEO campaign but neglect to pour your energy into effective lead generation as well, you will likely be headed for disappointment. Search engine optimization has a role, and that role is to increase qualified traffic to a website. But unless you capitalize on that traffic with good old-fashioned marketing techniques, it will do you little good.

4. We can guarantee you #1 ranking in Google.

This one is more of a half-truth than an outright lie. But it's still used for deceitful purposes so I've added it to the list. Here's how the scam works.

The SEO company keyword-stuffs a particular page of the client's website with some obscure or overly specific phrase that is easy to rank for in search engines. Then, when the website does in fact rank well for that phrase, they say "Look how great we are!"

Here's the problem with this. The only kind of rankings that are worth pursuing are the rankings that bring qualified traffic to the website. Let me give you an example:

Let's say I had a client who built custom homes in Tallahassee, Florida. The phrases that would bring him the most traffic would include phrases like "custom homes in Tallahassee" ... "custom home builders Tallahassee" ... "New homes in Tallahassee" ... you get the picture. As a competent SEO professional, those are the phrases I would focus on for ranking purposes.

But here's what the shady SEO company with the bold promises would do. They would write a page of content around an obscure or overly specific phrase such as "best custom luxury homes in Tallahassee area of Florida." They would repeat this specific phrase over and over, point some links at the page, and lo and behold it suddenly ranks well for the silly phrase "best custom luxury homes in Tallahassee area of Florida."

The only problem is, nobody is searching such a ridiculous phrase (except the SEO company and the client). So their rankings are worthless -- they will produce no traffic for the client, and thus no business.

I am not exaggerating here. I've seen countless SEO companies brag about such things on the home pages of their websites. That would be like me bragging that I rank #1 for "Brandon Cornett law firm marketing guy." Who would actually search such a phrase, besides me?

5. SEO success takes years ... regardless of what industry you're in.

This one usually comes from the search engine optimization company that simply doesn't know what it's doing. I agree that the first part of this statement has some truth to it. But the second half is where the lie comes into the picture (or maybe just the ignorance).

SEO success in hyper-competitive fields like mortgage lending can, in fact, take a long time to achieve. But there are two different kinds of success in SEO -- the short-term and the long-term.

If, for example, I had a client with a brand new mortgage website, I would explain to them that top rankings for generic mortgage phrases are going to be a while in coming, no matter how much effort I put into their SEO. But by focusing on longer, more specific phrases (that people are actually searching), we could achieve plenty of short-term successes on the way to those long-term goals.

The other part of this blanket statement that's false is the "regardless of industry" clause. Some industry niches are not yet competitive online, especially when you get geographically specific. For example, if I sold bulldozer parts in Michigan, I could probably achieve top rankings in a few months or less -- even with a brand new website. After all, how many bulldozer part suppliers could there be in one state?

If somebody tells you that SEO always takes years to succeed with regardless of your industry, they simply don't know what they're doing.

Vulnerability is Power

One of the most powerful tools for communicating is vulnerability. Without it, honesty and boundaries are not possible. I cannot possibly let you see the real me if I am not willing to take the risk of getting real.

Each and every one of our words is a prayer. If we want to live a life of dignity, honesty, and integrity, our words and non-verbal communication must reflect those qualities. We are not bad or wrong when we speak outside of our desired realm; however, we are ignorant of our choices. Once we become aware that our words must reflect our highest good and potential, then we become responsible.

God hears every prayer but the change happens in us.

-Yogi Bhajan

When we express ourselves fully, we are allowing for vulnerability. When we get real with people, we are building intimacy. We allow others to see all of us, the lovely and the gritty. This is uncomfortable, especially when we have built up a wall of self-reliance.

Vulnerability is not to be confused with sacrificing oneself safety or integrity. I used to vacillate between doormat and bulldozer. Neither of these states are empowering. When I can get really real, without expectation of any result, I can be vulnerable and not worry about the consequences. This allows for space and the miraculous to show up. I have lived this over and over again.

When I was in doormat or bulldozer mode, I was acting from a place of fear. I was trying to control an outcome: either for people to like me, or to be left alone. If I acted with force, at least I had predictable results: I would have a moment of control of my environment.

But really, what kind of control is that? It does not work, it drives others away and keeps me isolated in a shell. I now see that if I can be vulnerable, I have access to a larger power or a bigger picture. I can serve the highest good, not just my temporary cure for discomfort.

Now I can go to my husband and say, "I am going to get really vulnerable right now. Can you actively listen to what I have to say?" The objective is to set us both up to win.

Your Assignment:

Look for ways that you can be vulnerable in a safe way. Where can you appropriately get really real with a friend, partner, or family member? How can you set both of you up to win? Do you need to let them know ahead of time and ask for what you need?

Learning About the 12v Linear Actuators

There are a number of different types of linear actuators out there, like the 12v linear actuators that obviously runs on electric, the mechanical actuators that is powered by the turning of a wheel of some kind and the pressure type that is powered by air running through a series of pipes. You will want to know that the linear actuator is used in the almost every industry in the world. You will also want to know that there are a number of different uses for them and that they can be as simple as a car jack and as complex as to be used on something like a bulldozer or even on a film set. You will also want to know that the 12v linear actuator is one of the most used electronic actuators out there.

Now, for those of you who got a bit side tracked with the car jack comment you will need to know that the car jack is a form of linear actuator. In fact is the car jack is the simplest form of the mechanical actuator. It makes use of the jackscrew or screw jack mechanism and runs in a linear or line like pattern. It is used to lift a heavy device and lower that device with accuracy without giving into the pressure the device is putting on the mechanism. This in all of its essence is a linear actuator.

You may also want to know that there is such a thing is the rotary actuator. This, as the name suggests, works in a circular motion. You will find that these also make use of the semi-circle. For those of you who really need to get a picture of a 12v linear actuator in work you will find that the windscreen wiper is one such tool. However, the windscreen wiper on your car may actually make use of the semi-circle rotary actuator.

A 12 volt linear actuator may come in the form of your TV lift, or the lift that you use to get from the bottom cupboard to the top of. You will have to know that it is almost always something that has a rod that goes into another when it closes. Take the shock absorbers on your car as an example these, you will find, are also linear actuators, and are great for explaining how these tools work. The one pole goes inside the outer casing and makes use of air, when it comes to the shocks on your car.

This is why it is said that linear actuators are used in all industries in the world, but if you are going to make use of the electronic versions you will want to make sure that you do not do any overvolting on your system. You will also want to make sure that you buy your 12v linear actuators at low cost wholesale. You may find really good deals on these great tools online, because we all know that everything is cheaper online.

A Little Boy's Dream Come True Room

Most little boys have their hearts set on an action hero or some other movie theme that they would actually like to have displayed in their rooms. Maybe they want to be a cowboy or on a Safari. They may picture themselves in the jungle, in a race car, outer space, or in the armed services. You may also have a little man who would love to be a famous sports player. Regardless of what they want you desire to give them only the best. They are usually in this phase for just a short time so you don't want to decorate their room permanently but only enhance it using their favorite thing or theme.

The first thing you need to do is to capture the main colors of their theme. Usually it is more than one color, most commonly four different colors. You can use the colors to decorate their room. This month it may be 'Toy Story' and the next month it may be 'Cars' and that is why you need to be able to be flexible. One great thing in these two movies is that the primary color of red is used. You can use this color to highlight the room, for example the curtains. If you are decorating for 'Toy Story' you can make the curtains out of bandannas. For 'Cars' you could just use a solid red color.

A Safari theme or a Rain Forest theme could mean alot of green in their room. But you can have different shades of green to make the room seem more balanced. You can buy stencil that will help you draw trees on the walls or you can purchase decals of trees that just peel and stick to your walls. Make some throw pillows with your child in the shape of some of the animals they may see in the Safari or the Rain Forest. You can make a snake out of a piece of material and use a hot glue gun instead of stitching it. This will be something that they can keep and always remember how much you seen to it that they were happy. When the decorations are all put away you can still keep the snake on the bed.

Outer space theme may seem fairly easy to do. You can paint the ceiling a dark blue and add glow in the dark stars on the ceiling so they will be able to see the stars at night while they are laying down to sleep. The colors are normal colors; blue, gray and white. You can add a space ship border around the top of the room and you can decorate in white and black. These are the space ship colors.

Of course there are always cartoon characters that will be popular for ever. These include Scooby Doo, Lion King, Mickey Mouse, and more. These characters have always been famous and popular and will continue to be for a long time. That is why when you invest in decorations of these characters they will hold their value for a long time to come.

What is Depreciation? Accounting For Non-Accountants

If I was to ask four people what depreciation was, I'd probably get four different answers:

The amount of wear and tear on assets,
An allowance to help replace assets,
An accountant's device to reduce tax, or
A way of allowing for inflation.

All four would be wrong. Accountants are not known for explaining things well - which may account for the above misconceptions - but I'll try to explain it so that:

You will understand something more about your accounts,
You can impress your bank manager and others with your accounting knowledge,
You will understand why depreciation is in your accounts and budgets but not in cash flow statements,
You can understand and prepare budgets better, and
You will be able to understand the accounts of - and make better decisions about - businesses you might consider buying or investing in.

My explanation of depreciation starts with expenses and assets:

Anything you spend money on, in your business, is what we call a debit:

You pay your phone account so you have a phone expense.
You pay for a new car so you have an asset, the car.

We pay out for both but accountants treat them differently. Why is that?

The reason is time.

Any spending which is "used up" within a year is an expense - the phone bill is used up and you now have nothing to show for it. It's an expense.
Any spending which is not used up in a year (your car lasts more than a year, hopefully) is called an asset. At the end of the year you still have a car to show for it.

Expenses go into the Income Statement* and reduce profit and, therefore, tax. The Income Statement shows your income and expenses.

Assets go into the Balance Sheet* and have no effect on profit. The Balance Sheet shows what you owe and own at any point of time.

Now, what happens to assets?

So, you buy your car and its cost goes into the Balance Sheet, along with land, buildings, plant, equipment and other assets. The Balance Sheet shows you what assets you own... but not how much they are worth. These assets stay in your Balance Sheet till your accountant does something with them... and what he or she does is depreciate them.

As you know, all assets except land wear out and eventually cease to exist. So we leave land in your Balance Sheet at its original cost, till you sell it. We do not depreciate land.

All other assets will wear out or get "used up" somehow - a bit like your phone bill, but over a much longer time. Of course, when you buy a car, a bulldozer, a trawler or a computer, we don't know how long you will keep each one. The best we can do, at the start, is to guess just how long it will remain productive for you. Accountants' attitude is that an educated guess is better than nothing at all.

We might guess that a building will last 50 years so we'll transfer 2% of its cost from the Balance Sheet to the Income Statement each year. After 50 years we'll have transferred all of its cost and we'll have a Balance Sheet book value of $0.00.

We might guess that your office furniture will last 10 years so we'll transfer 10% of its cost from the Balance Sheet to the Income Statement each year. After 10 years we'll have transferred all of its cost and we'll have a Balance Sheet book value of $0.00.

Depreciation is the cost of an asset, spread over its useful life. The amount we transfer from your Balance Sheet to your Income Statement each year is what we call depreciation.

So now you can quote the accounting definition of depreciation, can't you! It's the cost of an asset, spread over its useful life. Talk like that and people will think you're an accountant!

I'll make it easier with numbers:

You buy your car for $30,000. You estimate that it will last you 5 years so we depreciate it at $6,000 per year - one fifth per year.

After year one, its book value is $24,000 (cost $30,000 - depreciation $6,000)

After year two, its book value is $18,000 (last year book value $24,000 - depreciation $6,000)

Each year $6,000 goes out of your Balance Sheet and into your Income Statement and, as it's an expense, it reduces your profit by $6,000.

Profits and Cash Flows are not necessarily the same

The above explains why you can have huge profits and a falling bank account... or huge losses and a rising bank account... or both profits and bank balances going up or both going down.

There is no connection between profits and bank balance (or cash flows) - depreciation is one of several reasons for that. Depreciation is simply a book entry - it's just a transfer between accounting statements.

So, in the first year, your bank account went down by the cost of the car ($30,000) and your profits only went down by the depreciation expense of $6,000.

In the second year, the car had no impact on your bank account but you took another $6,000 (depreciation) off your profits. And the same in the next three years.

The same thing happens when you're preparing your budgets - depreciation expenses are in your profit budgets but not in your cash flow budgets.

Buying businesses and making intelligent investing decisions

The above may seem like a lot of intellectual equine output that has no particular relationship to your real life... to anyone's real life, really!

However, one thing you will have learned here (or somewhere else) is that the book values that assets are shown at in Balance Sheets have no relevance to the value of those assets. Book values are simply the mathematical balance of what's left after some depreciation is taken off. And, since depreciation is a best-guess in the first place, anything to do with it should not be relied on in terms of asset values.

If you're investing in a business, then, don't rely on the assets' book values for anything. The book values mean absolutely nothing to you. If you don't know what they're worth, don't look at the accounts but get a valuer to value the assets for you.

What I've left out

Depreciation is a large subject and my aim has been to explain the main workings of it. I would be irresponsible if I did not warn you that there are things I have not explained:

Why we do not depreciate most assets the same amount (e.g. $6,000) every year,
What you (or your accountant) do with when you sell an asset you've depreciated, and
The Tax Office's many rules on depreciation.

If you have any more questions about depreciation, call me.

* Every so often, the people who control accountants come out with different names for the same old things. I'd never dare suggest that it's to confuse people but I have noticed that each new name for an old thing is progressively bigger and bigger each time.

For example:

What we used to call an Income Statement now has to be called Statement of Financial Performance. What we used to call a Balance Sheet now has to be called Statement of Financial Position. Anyway, I guess it keeps someone happily employed!

Bulldozing Houses

We all read recently that a guy who built his own house destroyed it with a bulldozer rather than seeing it lost to foreclosure. Another nut flew his plane into an IRS building.

I am sure there was an awful lot of background to such stories. Maybe these poor souls just went crazy. People don't just resort to insane and irrational acts if they are lucid and normal, or do they?

There is an awful tension building in our country. People have taken bad loans on terms which do not fit with their ability to pay. This is particularly true with sub prime mortgages. The loan amounts were often more than the value of the collateral. The rates were too high, or maybe the initial rates were fine, but adjusted several years into the term of the loan.

Even then it may have worked out, but something happened, like it always does, a job loss, a divorce, an illness. These kinds of events should be actuarially expected, but nobody used any common sense in the creation of the credit.

So the borrower falls behind a few payments, and here is where the real trouble starts.

A mortgage is a contract to loan a sum of money to be repaid in installment, normally over 30 years. For most people, it is by far the largest and most daunting financial transaction they will undertake in their entire lives.

The standard Fannie Mae approved form of a mortgage contract provides that on default, all sums due under the mortgage and note are "accelerated". This means the whole loan gets called, due and payable immediately. The loan documents also state that the bank does not have any obligation to work with the borrower at all. It can simply move like a bulldozer to a foreclosure sale.

The bulk sale of such loans into the secondary mortgage market removed the original lender from ownership of the loan. That is why when you are in trouble, you will no longer be talking to your local loan broker, but rather to some call servicing center in Tucson or Seattle staffed by people who have never met you, never heard of your town, let alone seen your home or met your family.

What is most odd is that the lending industry, which brought us all these defective loan products so happily for a 20 year period, set up a remarkably inadequate system to address problems of the millions of people who have fallen behind and are in fear of losing their homes. A borrower in default simply cannot get in touch with anyone who has authority to make decisions. The Mortgage Modification process is given great lip service but is obviously not working.

So a borrower casts about, trying to get someone to give terms with which he can live in an all out effort to keep the house, getting nowhere but all the while living in complete fear.

Eventually they might file a bankruptcy case, but the borrower's troubles are then only compounded. The long distance lender hires a big foreclosure mill of a law firm, and the bulldozer moves forward. The bankruptcy disintegrates into a series of motions over how much is due, because the loan documents entitle the bank to apply any payments to all attorney fees, charges, taxes, insurance before ever getting to interest and principal. Invariably the lenders have better payment records than the borrower, who has been floundering now for a year or more. Clients ask me constantly "How did the loan get that high?" They don't even know what they owe, and it is hardly worth explaining.

Normally the borrower will lose the home. Some fight it. Some roll instantly.

This is not the worst result. Many of my clients struggled and worked to get a defaulted mortgage under control for years, with no meaningful cooperation from the lender which just keeps bulldozing forward. I often counseled them to give it up and go rent somewhere. Many ultimately did so, and found themselves happy, a few years later, to be free of maintenance, tax payments, snow removal. They were never meant to be homeowners in any event, at least not in the manner they attempted.

The analysis does not end there.

What about the damage being inflicted on the American people by such dismal processes? What about the children who watch as their parents literally lose everything they have? What about headlines which declare that the government is bailing out banks for their poor business practices? How do we clean up this debt mess for our children and our grandchildren?

I could be wrong, but I think I can take a pretty good guess at why that guy bulldozed his house.

Enough is enough.

It's time to take back control.

Construction Birthday Party Food Ideas

To make everyday food fun, create food signs that look like road signs to identify each food to coincide with your theme. We've got truckloads of construction food ideas to help you create a construction birthday party or a Bob the Builder party that is sure to be dynamite!

Roadside Munchies - Serve chips, nuts, goldfish, pretzels, cookies, chicken nuggets, or french fries in the back of new, clean toy dump trucks, clean unused paint roller trays, upside down hard hats, or new paint cans.

Spackle & Wood Chips Serve onion dip with Sun Chips.

Red Paint, Green Paint, & Paint Chips - Salsa, guacamole, and potato chips.

Bulldozer Burgers & Dynamite Dogs - BBQ hamburgers and hotdogs for your little construction crew.

Build Your Own Sandwich - Lay out various breads, cheeses, spreads, lettuce, condiments, etc. and let your little workers "build" their own sandwiches. You might consider cutting your bread into fourths, this way they can each build a few sandwiches.

Construction Crew Lunch - Make chicken or tuna salad sandwiches, or PB&J. Using cookie cutters, cut them into the shape of trucks and tools. Pack them inside of a brown paper bag. Add a bag of chips, an apple, and a juice box.

Big Wheel Sandwiches - Split English muffins in half and place on a cookie sheet. Spread a layer of canned baked beans on the muffins. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Cut hotdogs into thirds and then cut each third into four lengthwise pieces. Lay six pieces of hotdog on each muffin to create the wheel spokes. Bake at 375 Degrees for 10 minutes, or until cheese melts.

Lumber Fries - Cook fries according to package directions and them stack them up into various piles like you would lumber.

Bolts & Screws Salad - Make your favorite pasta salad recipe using corkscrew-shaped pasta (the screws). Add raisins and chopped walnuts as your bolts.

Carpenter Pencils - Carrot sticks.

Logs - Pretzel sticks.

Orange Cones - Buggle Chips or candy corn.

Construction Chug-A-Lug - Serve orange and yellow Gatorade, Kool-Aid, or Juice.

Dynamite Punch - Make any kind of punch that you like and serve it up in individual cups. Then add Pop Rocks candies to each cup. The carbon dioxide in these candies will cause the punch to start to crackle, pop, and spit as soon as it comes in contact with the punch.

Bob The Builder Sugar Cookies - Make your favorite sugar cookie recipe. Using construction-shaped cookie cutters, cut dough into truck and tool shapes. Cover with orange or yellow icing and decorate with any combination of edible glitter, sprinkles, sparking sugar, nonpareils, or cake gel. You can also create road signs by cutting the cookies into squares, triangles, octagons, and diamonds. Then frost them to look like road signs. For example frost them with yellow icing and use black gel to create the writing.

Jell-O Bricks - Make Jell-O in rectangular pan. Add extra envelope of gelatin so it will hold together. When set, cut into squares and let workers build with their squares before eating their handiwork.

How to Make a Crazy Toilet-Paper-Roll Bulldozer From Easy-To-Find Supplies!

When building your project, experiment with new and different ways of putting it together. The most important thing is to have fun!

Find these or similar supplies!

* 2 toilet-paper tubes

* Cereal box or some cardboard

* 1 or 2 straws

* Tape

1. Make your bulldozer blade!

I started out by making my bulldozer blade. Simply cut one of your TP tubes in half the long way. I ended up cutting it down a little more so that it was about 1/3. Looks like a bulldozer blade to me! You can even cut the edges at an angle a little bit to make it even more cool.

2. Make your bulldozer arms!

Next you can make the arms that will hold your bulldozer blade. Stand your blade up on to a piece of cardboard and trace out its circular profile. Then draw out your arm design. Make it about 3 to 4 inches long. Cut it out and trace it onto another piece of cardboard. Then cut that one out. This way both of your arms will be the same. Next make a hole on each arm so that they can slide freely onto your axle straw.

3. Add the axle holes!

Now make 4 holes onto your other TP tube. you will want to make them as level to each other and as evenly spaced as possible. I spent a few moments with a ruler and marked my locations out first. Then using a hole punch I carefully made my holes. These holes need to be slightly bigger than your straws.

4. Add your axles!

For my axles I cut out pieces of 2 straws so that they stuck out about an inch on each side. I inserted them and then made a few adjustments to my holes. Basically, I made the holes a little bigger so that my straws would turn freely.

5. Make your wheels!

Take an old box or piece of cardboard and draw four circles (I made my wheels about 3 inches in diameter). Then carefully cut out all four wheels. Find the center of each wheel and make a small hole for your straw axle to slide through. Try not to make the holes too big, or the wheels might wobble.

6. Start to assemble your dozer!

Start to assemble your bulldozer by installing the back axle straw then slide your rear wheels onto it. You may want to ad a little tape to hold your wheels on it they are loose. Then place your front axle straw in and slide both of your bulldozer arm onto it, one on each side.

7. Add your wheels!

Now install your front wheels. At this point I rolled it around a little and then made a few last-minute adjustments. Before you tape it up permanently make sure your wheels can turn and that the blade arms are loose. If not, make the necessary adjustments.

8. Attach your blade!

All that's left is to attach your front bulldozer blade to both of the arms. Find a position that you like and tape it on. VOILA - a TP Bulldozer! You can start rolling it around or dress it up. The sky's the limit!

9. Dress up your dozer!

Now for my favorite part of every project...dressing it up! For my TP Dozer I used some orange masking tape. If you don't have or can't get some orange tape, try using regular masking tape and coloring it with a permanent maker. I disassembled all the pieces and carefully covered everything with my orange tape after I made the Simple PT Dozer.

10. Reassemble your dozer!

After I was happy with the way all off my parts looked, I reassembled my TP Dozer. It looks really cool but it still needed something. My son suggested a cabin... I agree!

11. Build your cabin!

For my cabin I carefully cut out 4 pieces of cardboard to form its four sides. I decide to take the scrap piece of TP tube that was left over from making my Dozer blade and use it for the roof. After playing around a little with its shape a little, and making some necessary adjustments to it, I permanently taped it up and covered it with my orange tape.

12. Make your windows!

To make the windows for my cabin I carefully cut them out of some blue masking tape. You could draw them in place using a colored marker if you like. For my door, I cut out a piece of scrap cardboard and covered it with tape. I added some windows and drew in a little handle and attached it to the cabin. LOOKS REALLY COOL!

13. Add extras!

I taped the cabin on, drew in a few steps so that the dozer operator would be able to climb up to the cabin. I also added a little blue tape to the ends of my axle straws for the finishing touch and Voila! Your TP Dozer is ready to start bulldozing stuff around the house!

Backhoes Description and Uses

The back hoe is best described as a three part piece of construction equipment, combined into one unit. It is a tractor, a loader and an excavator. It was developed by JCB, a British Company which specializes in construction machines and equipment, in the year 1953.

History

The earliest backhoes were actually tractors with both a hoe and a front-mounted loading bucket. This remained the original design followed by other manufacturers thus the name JCB was attributed to any back hoe no matter who manufactured it.

In the year 1959, Hy-Dynamic, an American company introduced another design for the backhoe and referred to it as the Dynahoe Model A. This new design allowed 14,000 lb operating weight and 14 foot dig depth. It is powered by a 65hp continental "Red Seal" 6 cylinder gasoline engine but was then converted to a 353 diesel engine on the year 1961. In the year 1964, the gasoline engine design was faced out.

Description

It is a tractor-like vehicle with both an arm and bucket mounted on the front. Unlike a bulldozer which lifts dirt using a forward motion, it digs dirt backward. It is powered by hydraulic and has a quick coupler feature which allows for simplified attachment mountings. It is a general purpose tool and modern back hoe manufacturers have added innovative attachments to it like breakers, grapplers, augers and tilt rotators. Some popular back hoe manufacturers include Case CE, Global Construction Equipment, JCB, Terex, Ford Motor Company and John Deere.

Uses

Backhoe is commonly associated with construction. One of its main functions is as a loader. It removes any unwanted dirt in chunk. It is like a gigantic and powerful dustpan which will scoop out the dirt for you. It is used to pick up and carry large amounts of loose materials and is a perfect tool in excavating.

Backhoe can also be used to smooth things over just like a butter knife. It can flatten or push dirt just like a plow. It is perfect before pouring cement on an excavated land.

Backhoe is also used as a digger. It is used to dig up hard compact material. At times it is also used to lift heavy loads. It can lift heavy materials and drop it in a pile.

Basically, the backhoe is an extended arm, a gigantic arm if you may say. It can do almost anything that a normal arm can do. So it is considered a wonderful aid for anyone may it be in construction or as excavators.

Back hoe for purchase

There are a lot of companies which are selling used excavators. Backhoe and excavators for sale can easily be purchased online but purchasing used excavators and back hoes can give your company more savings. Some used back hoes can even go as low as $12,100, that is a lot cheaper than what a new back hoe will cost you and most of the time these used back hoes are in good quality condition.

It is best to be diligent and check out online offers. You never know, you may find the perfect backhoe for your company.

Job Prospects For Heavy Equipment Operators

Heavy equipment operators are in charge of moving equipment, goods and heavy materials in various sites. They are also known as backhoe operator, bulldozer operator, excavator operator, loader operator, surface mining equipment operator and grader operator.

Heavy equipment operators operate equipment that is commonly used in the construction and maintenance of roads, buildings, bridges and other structural work. They use these machines to clear the land and carry materials for construction work. It's operators also operate machinery that is involved in spreading concrete and asphalt on roads.

It's operators generally work for approximately 40 hours a day for five days a week. A lot of their work involves overtime although the demand for additional hours depends on the region and the sector. In any case, the work is challenging and requires sufficient training.

People who operate them are required to ensure that the machinery used for such work is in good condition. They have the responsibility of maintaining vehicles and equipment used for construction. These equipment and vehicles need precise handling and repair as they are controlled using levers, pedals, switches and joysticks. They will need to make adjustments to the machinery as and when needed.

According to a survey, about 53% of it's operators work in the construction industry followed by the manufacturing, public administration and municipal sectors. Mining and forestry also need them.

Job opportunities are most favorable for those operators who have the necessary certification along with an apprenticeship certificate. Graduates with a DEP in Heavy Equipment operation are also sought after. Experienced operators who are currently unemployed are also much in demand.

These days, there is a good amount of requirement for them. During the recession that hit the country in the early 1990s, the number of heavy equipment operators had gone down considerably. One of the reasons is the slowdown in construction activities, civil engineering and developmental projects. However, once the recession abated, these activities increased steadily and the demand for heavy equipment operators rose correspondingly. It is expected that one can see a similar trend when the current recession tides out in areas where construction and developmental activities have slowed down.

Employment growth for heavy equipment operators depends to a large extent on the activity in the civil engineering and road works sector. As the government spends more readily on infrastructure, there should be a parallel increase in the number of it's operators. As residential construction activities pick momentum, there will be a growth spurt here too. All in al, the future looks quite bright for them.

Outdoor Play: A Great Way for Kids to Get Outside and Use Their Imagination

"Summer is a wonderful time of year when children can enjoy lots of fresh air and outdoor play. There is certainly no shortage of excellent activities, toys and accessories to entertain and inspire children of all ages."

Some of the favorite activities among kids include; bubbles, inflatable bouncers and play sets, kites and wind spinners, outdoor furniture, playhouses and play tents, pools and water fun, and sandboxes and beach toys.

Bubbles are one of those outdoor activities that can be enjoyed by babies to adults. Blowing bubbles has never had quite so many options to choose from as it does today. There are plastic bubble lawn mowers, bubble catchers, bubble vision glasses, bubble wands, bubble lights, wands for small to super huge bubbles, no spill bubble buckets, monster bubble blowers, bubble blizzards (that blow nonstop bubbles) and bubble blowers available in popular fictional characters and a myriad of colors and styles. Blowing bubbles is an inexpensive way to have hours of outdoor fun.

One of the most exciting types of play for young children involves using the wide variety of inflatable bouncers and play sets on the market. Your backyard will be the center of activity if you set up one of these wonderful toys. Inflatable bouncers can be purchased in several different sizes from large (9 feet by 9 feet by 6 feet high) able to accommodate several children to small bouncers that only hold two children. Deluxe bouncers offer a fun and safe play environment with continuous air flow for safety and puncture resistant heavy gauge vinyl. There is a wide selection of designs such as castles, popular fictional character themes, inflatable fire engines, school buses, climbing walls, inflatable cars, inflatable play centers and playhouses. Several of the inflatable toys come with soft balls included for tossing, kicking and pushing around within the structure.

Kites, wind spinners and windsocks are a wonderful way for you and your child to interact and enjoy a lovely outdoor activity. The beautiful colors, designs and sizes available will surely be remembered for years to come. Kites can be purchased in an endless array of designs to include; airplanes with spinning propellers, helicopters, birds (flamingos and parrots), sharks, dolphins, butterflies, hummingbirds, fish, dragons, cellular box kites, dolphin kites, sailboats, cellular kites, diamond kites, parasail kites and tri-planes to only name a few. Wind spinners and windsocks come in as many designs as do the kites, in an assortment of fantastic colors and patterns.

Children can enjoy the same comfort that adults do when it comes to outdoor furniture. Whether it be having lunch at their favorite plastic or wooden picnic table or lounging back in their adirondack chair, it's always fun for them to be just like mom or dad. Other adorable pieces of children's outdoor furniture can include; playhouses (complete with doorbell and motion detector), patio sets (with umbrella, table and chairs), fabric patio chairs, plastic mushroom tables, play lemonade stands, plastic mailboxes, plastic stone benches and folding armchairs.

Playhouses provide children with hours of imaginative and pretend play. There is nothing more special to a child than having their own little imaginary home to dream and role play in. Playhouses will often be a part of backyard outdoor toys in either plastic or wooden designs with climbers and swings. Some of the plastic playhouses are available with sounds such as doorbells, phones and motion detectors. Plastic playhouses can be purchased in pirate, cottage, log cabin, mushroom house and camper styles.

Similar to playhouses, play tents are usually made with nylon or plastic and also come in a wide variety of designs and styles. The biggest difference between the two is that play tents are usually much easier to assemble, disassemble and portable if needed. Play tents are available in tunnels (for crawling through), dome play tents, lady bug tents, tents with tunnel addition, school bus, fire engine, bulldozer, playhouses, camouflage tents, popular fictional character theme tents, four tunnels joined by tent in middle, tee pees and castle tents. Fabric parachutes can also be used as tents draped over objects in the home or used for throwing up toys with children in a circle.

It truly feels like summer once everyone has gone for a swim. Pools offer wonderful relief from the hot weather and a refreshing way to have some fun. There are a mountain of pools and pool toys to choose from, whether it be a kiddie pool or a pool lounger there is no shortage of options. Above ground inflatable pools can be found in different sizes to accommodate the kids or the whole family. Kiddie pools are available in sunshade cover designs, popular character themes, different colors and activity pool styles. The pool toys you select will only add to the enjoyment with water guns and canons, kick boards, lifejackets, inflatable water wings, retrieval toys, rafts and loungers, inflatable sharks, tubes, inflatable basketball hoops, seat rings and beach balls to name a few.

Lastly, playing in the sand can provide both learning skills and entertainment for any child, whether it be in their backyard sandbox or at the beach. Building sandcastles and sand play is particularly helpful in teaching social skills (sharing, interacting and cooperation), cognitive skills (measuring sand and mapping out roads) and physical skills (pouring, dumping, pushing and gathering sand etc.). Sandbox kits can be purchased to set up or you can select from several designs such as; turtles, castles, water and sand tables, ladybug, dinosaur and frog sandboxes. Sandbox and beach accessories might include; wheelbarrows, pails of all sizes, rakes, shovels, molds and beach chairs.

Outdoor play is a great way for the kids to get out of the house and use their imaginations. All forms of outdoor activities easily promote well-being and physical development. Children love to play outdoors as it allows them the chance to freely explore their environment while developing muscle coordination, flexibility and motor skills while decreasing restlessness and stress. And don't forget . . . always remember to put sunscreen on your child whenever they are outside.

Becoming a Reporter is Easy

Writers seem to think that finding a job as a reporter is hard. Granted, it may be in some areas, but reporter jobs are more abundant than you may think. Maybe you're just setting your sights too high.

When some people hear the word "reporter", they picture someone trotting in and out of a major news conglomerate and spilling the beans on an adulterous President, unveiling "Watergate", or changing into Superman in a phone booth. Reporting is not a glorious job. In fact, it's hard work. A reporter is defined as "a person who investigates and reports or edits news stories." That title brings it down to the common person doing a mundane job - that will someday get them somewhere.

If you live in the city or suburbs, the chances are good that there is a reporter's job waiting on you less than 20 miles from your house.

Almost every local newspaper is hard up to find a sports reporter, and/or someone to cover PTA or political meetings, as they pertain to the local government. And if, by chance, there are no openings there, you can make your way into print by covering traffic accidents in the area and finding odd news.

For example, I once saw a man skiing. What made it a newsy article was that his skis had wheels on them, and he was skiing on dry pavement in the middle of town! On another occasion I saw road equipment sitting in front of someone's bedroom window, bulldozer tracks across the yard, and a broken fence where it had entered. That was a story! On a third occasion, I saw a sheriff's car flip upside down as it tried to round a corner too fast. All of these things were news items that no newspaper would turn down.

In addition, there is always a place for articles on unusual hobbies and crafts. For example, while on vacation in the Rocky Mountains, I saw awesome statues that were made out of iron and wood. It blew my mind to think of a genius who lived in the boonies and sold intricate merchandise to tourists in his spare time. What a story that would have made. (Hubby wouldn't wait on me and it was a long walk home.)

The main thing you need to know is that most reporting is time-sensitive. If you report on a car accident, or PTA meetings, you have to work the story up that night and have it at the news office in the morning. (And, btw, call the newspaper ahead of time and ask them how they want pictures submitted. Digital pictures taken on a 35 mm camera are usually acceptable. Always submit pictures. The newspaper will pay you at least $5 per picture, and more often than not, a picture will get your story on the front page.)

No, you won't get rich selling to small town newspapers, but that's how most people break into print their first time. Btw, always have a notepad, pen, camera, and tape recorder in the back seat. Finding a reporter's job isn't that hard, but living up to the expectations of a reporter is.

The Causes and Remedies for Constipation

In this article, we are going to cover the most stunning material and research probably ever done on this planet regarding health care. Some of the conclusions that I will draw may actually stun you but, nonetheless, they are based on sound authoritative, documented research.

In 1975 a group of British scientists set out to understand and discover why primitive African people had such a low rate of cancer, coronary disease and specifically bowel and digestive disease. Their research was quite exhaustive. It covered and included tracking clues that extended all the way back to lunch menus in an African village right through studying bowel habits in an English mill town in 1850. That's quite a variance. These English doctors, working among the native Africans, noticed something very peculiar or at least peculiar to them: the native Africans move their bowels somewhere between three to five times a day and on an average passed well over one pound of fecal material per day; this was a startling contrast compared to the normal English bowel movement of less than four ounces. It is also quite common for the typical English person to move their bowels once a day, or even skip days. Now, we have been taught, unfortunately, by our physicians that moving one's bowels once a day or even every few days is perfectly normal, and for some people it is normal to just move once a week. Analysis of the stools of these primitive African people found them to be virtually odorless; contained the exact amount of friendly bacteria required to keep the digestive system and digestive track healthy and functioning normally; had very low levels of putrid action and toxic material; and for the most part were far healthier than the average British bowel movement.

Actual investigation into this shows us that the African people have a diet that is very high in fiber. They eat mostly fruits and vegetables that are high in cellulose, other types of fiber like pectins and are particularly high in water content. The water content helps the body pass the fiber through by keeping the bowel and the feces moist. The average African is consuming about 24 grams of crude fiber per day compared to about four to six grams found in the typical British or American diet. Upon more in-depth analysis, it was found that the colons of the African people contained very, very low amounts of toxins and poisonous material that are normally associated with the bowel and old, rotting putrefying material in the bowel.

These chemical substances have been directly linked to arthritis, cancer and cancer of the bowel and many other illnesses and diseases. Since these primitive African people had very low amounts of these poisons in there colon, it was concluded this is why they had such a low incidence and low rates of bowel cancer, cancer in general, heart disease, arthritis and many other illnesses. So, this leads up to our main question. What is constipation? Well, the digestive track of man is able to hold at any given time somewhere between three to five meals. That means if you've eaten three to five meals and haven't had a bowel movement your body is able to cope with that and able to deal with that. Once we go past three to five meals, the colon begins to expand. It can actually expand up to five times its normal size in order to hold more meals that are not being passed. This, however, produces a very bad situation because the longer the food stays in the intestinal track the more apt it is to begin to ferment, putrefy, rot and act as a breeding ground for bad bacteria, the likes of which can cause different arthritic conditions immunological problems such as autoimmune illnesses which can be linked to allergies, chemical sensitivities and different types of rheumatoid arthritis.

Parasites and the eggs of parasites can hatch in your intestinal track the longer they sit there without being passed out into the toilet. Also, as things become more disturbed, a fungus called Candida albicans is able to start to grow. This intestinal fungus can grow when friendly bacteria are destroyed in your intestinal track. Most common friendly bacteria are destroyed by antibiotic use or by harmful parasites that can get into your food and water. These harmful parasites, when they get into your intestinal tract, destroy friendly bacteria allowing this fungus called Candida albicans to grow. There are over 100 different symptoms possibly caused by this fungus. They range from allergies, asthma, arthritic complaints digestive complaints, brainfog, fatigue, spaceyness, inability to concentrate, skin problems, food reactions, the list goes on and on. A healthy functioning digestive tract should be able to have a bowel movement in ratio to every meal that is consumed in one given day. Now, this means if someone eats three times a day, they should have three bowel movements. If they eat one time a day, they should have one bowel movement. Simple math will show us, after one week's time, if someone consumes three meals a day that's 21 meals. Seven days times three meals. If someone has one bowel movement per day, at the end of the week that's one bowel movement times seven days equals seven bowel movements. Where did all the other food go? Most people have been misled into believing that when they have a bowel movement in the morning they are eliminating all the food from the day before. Nothing can be further from the truth. The reason for that is actual analysis and testing show that the average American has a transit time of at least 48 to 72 hours.

The word transit is simply referring to transportation time of the feces from the point it enters the mouth to the point it is actually eliminated in the bowel movement. If food is taking 48 to 72 hours to pass through our systems, there is no way that the bowel movement we are having in the morning is eliminating all the meals from the previous day. Now, this can fool you because some foods tend to move through your system faster than others. For instance beets, which can be used as a great marker for this experiment, usually will pass through within 18 to 24 hours. Salads and vegetables and particularly uncooked vegetables and raw fruits tend to move through faster. However, foods of lower fiber content like meats, refined grains and starchier foods tend to move through slower so you may see part of yesterday's meal in your bowel movement and be tricked into thinking that the whole meal was just passed. What actually occurred was some of the foods than can run faster through your digestive tract basically just outran all of the other foods that were there. This doesn't mean the entire meal was passed. On the contrary, it has defiantly been confirmed that it takes 42 to 72 hours for most Americans to pass, what we would refer to as, the average American meal. Now, let me ask you this question, how often do you take out your garbage? Particularly, during the summertime? Now, let's look at the garbage for a second. The garbage can has a lid and in the garbage can it is dark and moist and we have a lot of old food scraps in there. During the summer, if the can is outside, the sun beats on it making it hot, so we have a dark, moist, and warm environment.

Now, if you took out your garbage on Monday and then that night filled up the pail again and then left the pail alone until Thursday or Wednesday, what would you expect to smell when you opened up that pail? It certainly wouldn't be anything pleasant or anything to look forward to, of course not, it would stink. This is because the foods sitting in the garbage pail that are mixing with bacteria that were already present in the food are being allowed to putrefy. I don't think there are that many of us who would expect a garbage pail that has been sitting there for two or three days to be a very healthy environment. So, why would we ever think that our intestinal track would be any healthier if we allow garbage to stay in there for two or three days. A normal healthy person should have a bowel movement three times a day or minimum two times if he's eating three meals a day. If he is not, we call this a mild form of constipation. Now someone may have bowel movements three or four times a day, but if the bowel movements are liquidy or loose they won't be passing a lot of solid material and that would still be considered constipation. Remember constipation means to compact, it doesn't mean how many times you are moving. It simply means that things are being compacted in the bowel and the bowel is not fully evacuating, cleaning itself. Diarrhea in many senses can be a form of severe constipation.

If one were to analyze the bulk weight of material released in every episode of diarrhea that someone was having over the period of a few days, they would find they are passing mostly water and not much solid material. Therefore, the solid material is staying in the bowel, so even though they have the apparency of moving a lot and cleaning themselves out, they're really not because it's not solid material, it's all water. Sometimes people can become so constipated that all that will come out is liquid and loose material. This is defiantly a form of constipation if someone is moving his or her bowels every two to three days or any longer than that. This is severe constipation. This is the type of situation that is a breeding ground for many illnesses and diseases. The toxins that are produced in the bowel along with the different microorganisms such as bacteria, parasites and the fungus, Candida albicans, can produce more symptoms, illnesses, and diseases than anyone can believe. We have seen arthritis, diabetes, hypoglycemia, muscle soreness and pain, osteoporosis, PMS, other reproductive disorders, chronic migraines, and all types of indigestion and digestion complaints clear up miraculously once the person started moving their bowels normally again. There are many causes of constipation.

Very typically, antibiotics and other drugs can disrupt the friendly bacteria called acidophilus and bifidus, which live in our intestinal tract. These friendly bacteria help us to digest our food and help keep the intestinal pH at the right balance so that the bowels are able to move. When these bacteria are destroyed, the bowels can become too alkaline. Many times, the stool pH can go over 7.2, which is much more alkaline than it should be. When the stool pH becomes too alkaline, the bowels slow down and constipation is apparent. Different enzymes that help digest food and help us absorb vitamins and minerals stop working. At this point, we are unable to digest and absorb the vitamins, minerals, proteins and other nutrients from our food and we start developing many deficiency diseases that many of us read about in health and vitamin books. Many things can disturb our friendly bacteria. It could be as simple as chlorinated water. Excessive intake of coffee, alcohol, and other drugs can also disturb the friendly bacteria.

Friendly bacteria are very commonly disturbed by parasites. This may be horrible to confront and may be very difficult for anyone to want to believe, but people are picking up parasites all the time. We pick up parasites from our pets, from our water, from our food and even from each other. If the eggs from parasites are allowed to stay in our bodies too long, the eggs come in contact with certain chemicals, two of them are called propyl alcohol and benzene, these eggs are allowed to hatch and then parasites start to grow and multiply in our bodies. Many parasites can lay thousands of eggs a day. Once these parasites start to grow and mature, they disrupt the friendly bacteria, which then can lead, not only to constipation, but different parasite symptoms. Many authorities and experts now believe that over 90 percent of all Americans are affected with parasites and that parasites are actually the cause of 50 percent of the ailments and illnesses that doctors are commonly treating people for . Can you imagine that over 50 percent of all the ailments and illnesses that we are going to our doctor for are actually being caused by parasites living in our bodies as opposed to all these big fancy words and terms that are being coined in medical textbooks?

Constipation can also be caused by nutritional deficiencies, which can cause under active adrenal and thyroid function. The adrenal gland acts like the fuel pump in the body helping fuel get into the cells. The thyroid gland acts somewhat like sparkplugs, helping the body burn up fuel and create energy. These two glands also stimulate the digestive system and it's very common to find constipated people with under active thyroid and adrenal function. Many times under activity of these glands will not show up on the standard blood test that our doctors will do as this under activity is being caused by mild nutritional deficiencies of vitamins, minerals and proteins which help these glands to work. This is when one needs to see a nutritionist to resolve the matter. Constipation can also be caused by a sluggish liver. This, again, may not show up on standard medical tests as it may not be a disease condition. The liver itself will not stimulate the digestive track to move and pass food along by releasing adequate amounts of bile which is a substance which helps us breakdown fats in our diet. Many experts now feel that almost everyone has gallstones even though they may not be symptomatic or necessarily need medication or surgery from their doctors.

Gallstones can start accumulating in the gallbladder in the hundreds and hundreds or even thousands before the person may ever be symptomatic of it. I have seen the proof of this with my own eyes. I have had many patients do something that we call a gallbladder flush. This involves taking some simple every day household foods like lemon and olive oil and some basic herbs that flush the gallstones out of the gallbladder. I have had hundreds of patients do this and each one has reported seeing hundreds of stones pass and these were people who were never symptomatic of any type of gallbladder or gallstone problem. What we need to learn from this is that these stones could be in our gallbladder and could be causing the gallbladder and the liver to be ineffectively operating. This can be another cause of constipation. Constipation might also be caused by certain vitamin or mineral deficiencies.

Pantothenic acid is a B vitamin that helps encourage normal peristalsis in the intestines. Peristalsis is the wavelike muscular contraction of the colon in the small intestines which pushes food along, moving it eventually to the end of the colon where it is eliminated out of the body in normal bowel movements. Probably the three most basic causes of constipation though are much simpler then any one of these mentioned. The first is lack of water. It's interesting to know that fish do not have colons. The reason for that is fish are immersed in water all day, and the job of the colon is to reabsorb water from our food so that we can retain this moisture. Mammals and land creatures have colons. They are not immersed in water all the time so, they need to recycle the water from their food in order to avoid dehydration. Many people have had the experience of having to have a bowel movement and for some reason not being able to go when nature was calling. Later, they found the stool was dry and hard to pass. This is because the colon was absorbing excessive amounts of moisture from the stool and had then become dry. This can happen on a routine basis if there is not enough water in our diet. When an insufficient amounts of water is present, fecal matter in the colon will become dry and become stuck in the intestinal tract. These layers of fecal matter can start building up much like rust does on a pipe. The bowel movement that a person like this is having is actually being pushed through these layers of old dried material.

One of the next reasons for constipation is lack of fiber and the consumption of too many junk foods that are low in fiber. Fiber, as we have all learned by now, is essential. It is a bulking material that helps us brush along much like a broom would. Nowadays, people are taking Metamucil that is essentially a substance called psyllium. Psyllium is a seed that contains an outer husk that absorbs water and gels and bulks up. When this is consumed, it acts as a fiber laxative. The fiber creating a feeling of fullness and pressure in the colon, stimulates the colon to push fecal matter through. Thereby, also pushing with it the feces that were our food. Foods low in fiber or foods that are commonly thought of as being junk foods cause the intestinal tract to secrete mucus. The mucus is secreted by the intestinal tract as a way of coating itself and protecting itself from these harmful irritating junk foods. Mucus buildup in the colon can also occur from taking drugs, too much alcohol or from having parasites or other harmful organisms in the intestinal tract. Once again, the intestinal tract is only trying to protect itself by secreting mucus in order to put a thin layer of protective fluid between itself and the harmful irritant substance. As time goes on, with the lack of water and fiber in the diet, the low fiber food mixes with the mucus and start to develop into a paste. Eventually it hardens like plaster of Paris, becomes black and highly toxic. This material can build up, like we said before, like rust in a pipe. It is this material that is literally killing millions and millions of Americans. This material contains many toxic chemical substances, harmful bacteria, parasites and the fungus, Candida albicans, which can be damaging to our health.

Lack of chewing is another reason for constipation. Chewing helps send signals to our digestive system that food is being consumed. Chewing acts like a stimulus to the digestive system, telling the stomach, pancreas and the liver all to make digestive juices and telling the intestines and the large bowel to push food along digestive tract. It is amazing when we realize how much more energy people have when they are able to get rid of these internal poisons that they are carrying around and producing every second from the dirty, toxic bowels that we have in this country.

There is a solution however to this problem. It is our new constipation program. It involves disinfecting the bowel, killing harmful bacteria, fungi, parasites and their eggs, which can further injure the body and allow the constipation to persist. We want to kill these organisms. First is that when we start to clean out the bowel we may end up disturbing them like disturbing a hornets' nest outside in your backyard. I don't think you want to go over and pick it up and throw it away. I think the first thing you would want to do before you clean the hornets' nest out is throw some bug killer there to kill as many hornets as you can so they don't come out and attack you once they find out your trying to disturb their nest. Well, that's the same concept we have here. Our first step is to try to destroy as many of these organisms as we can so that when we start to clean out the bowel these bugs don't come up and bite us. The second step involves actually taking herbal substances and other natural things that help to loosen hardened fecal matter in the colon and then allow it to pass out of the body. Some of the herbs we use are somewhat like jack hammers in how they work .

They break up material. Some of the other herbs that are used, can be thought of as being more like bulldozers. Once the material has been loosened from the jackhammer, the bulldozer herbs move through and push it out, allowing us to pass it out of the body. At this stage of this program, sometimes colonics are very useful. For those of you who have never heard of this before, a colonic is a procedure where a certified technician has you lie down on a table and then he inserts a disposable plastic tub into the rectum. The tub that he inserts into your rectum is connected to an apparatus or machinery that allows water to be gradually pumped into the colon and at the same time pumps water that has entered the colon out. This creates a flushing action. It is very safe and very gentle, you can think of it as one big continuous enema. The goal of a colonic is never to balloon or overfill your colon causing it to burst. On the complete other hand, the colonic allows water to gently enter the colon hoping to loosen old fecal matter which is dried and has become stuck in different areas and allows it to be flushed out.

The next step of the constipation program is to help clear the gallbladder and liver of any stones that they may have and bring them up to a more full operating capacity. This is essential for proper bowel movements. After this is done, we concentrate on getting friendly bacteria to regrow in the intestinal tract and large bowel. We use very special laboratory tested strains of human bacteria and other substances that help them to grow back in the colon and large intestine. Therefore, allowing the large intestine and colon to have the proper environment again. This is a healthy environment, conducive to good digestion and proper bowel movements.

It seems that in most people who are chemically sensitive or allergic to anything, the very first flaw in their system is in the intestinal tract. The intestinal tract lacking this protective coating, or worse yet, having intestinal permeability (which is also called "leaky gut syndrome") are the underlying flaws in most people who are allergic. When someone lacks this protective coating in their intestinal tract, foods, chemicals, and microorganisms such as parasites, bacteria, yeast and viruses can then begin irritating the lining of the intestinal tract. What will happen next is that the immune system will start reacting at the line of the intestinal tract in order to fight back. This creates inflammation, swelling, and further irritation of the intestinal lining. This, in itself, besides causing intestinal pain, intestinal cramps and irritation, will begin allergic reactions throughout the body. It seems that these allergic reactions, begun in the intestinal tract, trigger skin reactions such as itching, hives, rashes, etc. As this continues for a length of time, the next step is that the intestinal lining becomes further degraded and starts to actually develop barriers that are leaky. The normal villi in the intestinal tract, which are hair-like structures that help absorb vitamins, minerals, and different nutrients from your food, become damaged. These tiny hairs are not able to absorb the nutrients from your food that are passing through your intestines and then send them into your bloodstream so your cells, glands and organs can use them.

Instead, holes or leaky patches develop at different points of the intestinal tract where large particles of foods, pollens, chemicals, microorganisms, whatever, then fall between the cracks and into your bloodstream. It is only the presence of these larger holes or leaks that allow these substances that would have never normally gotten into your bloodstream, to enter. Being in your bloodstream, they now create havoc. Bad reactions, allergies, environmental allergies are soon to follow. This is how the person then becomes an "allergic to everything" type of person.

One of the major differences discovered in someone who is HIV positive as opposed to someone who has full-blown AIDS is the person with full-blown AIDS has developed this leaky gut syndrome. Naturally, due to that, he is much more susceptible to contracting other infections and other problems. The person who is merely HIV positive, who doesn't have this leaky gut syndrome, has more protection as his intestinal tract is not allowing these things to pass through. It would be correct to say that most likely all people suffering from any type of skin rash or sensitivity have, to some degree, this syndrome of leaky gut, or a weakened protective lining of the intestinal tract.

The good news is that this situation can be remedied. Using some of the substances I mentioned earlier, the plant substances which are called mucins, to rebuild the friendly protective coating of the intestinal tract, and then using other specific nutrients which have been found to be able to rebuild the actual lining of the intestinal tract itself and strengthen it so as to repair the leaky patches, this problem can be resolved in a matter of a few months.

The first step in handling this problem would be to ascertain exactly what's happening in the person's digestive system. A new test has been developed which enables a practitioner to determine the total amount of friendly and harmful bacteria, the amounts of yeast and parasites in one's intestines, whether or not one is missing the substances in the intestines which protects the lining of the intestines, and whether or not the intestinal tract has become leaky. This test also would scan the digestive system and absorption system, to see if one is digesting and absorbing everything correctly from their food. It also tells a great deal about how well the immune system is functioning in the intestinal tract. This is the ideally suited test to determine exactly what's needed on someone suffering from this syndrome.

After the testing, the first step would be to put the person on a program to clear out any harmful bacteria or harmful microorganisms that are living in the intestines. Once they're eliminated, we then can begin building up the friendly bacteria in the system, and then we can begin repairing the intestinal tract.

In some cases, even though harmful organisms are present in the intestines and would continue to break down the intestinal tract, causing the same problem all over again, it is necessary to strengthen and heal the intestinal tract a bit before one even begins to clear away these harmful organisms. This is true in cases where people are so chemically sensitive or so allergic that they can no longer even tolerate taking the natural substances which might be able to clear away the harmful bacteria or microorganisms from their system. If this is the case, the person would first need a round or so of these substances to strengthen his intestinal tract so that he would be able to tolerate the substances that remove the harmful bacteria or harmful parasites.

Once this is accomplished the person would naturally, then be able to tolerate friendly bacteria. So, for those who are very, very sensitive, they have to actually begin the entire program by correcting as best as we can the weakness of the intestinal lining that causes the bad reaction before beginning the program to totally and completely correct the problem.

This is permissible because after the person has cleared away the bad microorganisms and then started to establish friendly bacteria, he can then go back on the substances that then heal the intestinal tract for a longer period of time, so as to obtain a complete and thorough regeneration of the area.

We are having fantastic successes and in some cases almost miraculous results in our own practice. We hope this information benefits you.

Automotive - An Indispensable Asset to Human Life

The invention of automotives have greatly affected the world in terms of transportation, construction, business, economy, etc., and overall day to day living of every individual around us. The street today widely consists of all kinds of vehicles from small scooters, small cars to big trucks and all of them consists variety of applications that almost always affects our day to day life. From the moment we step out of our house all we normally notice are those amazing inventions of human technology we all know as automotives. But how can each one of us appreciate these inventions? Let us take a look at our world today and compare it to the world we can just imagine without automobiles and see some facts on how their existence affects our lives.

Nowadays, almost all of our activities are dependent on vehicles. Take for example the mode of transportations we are enjoying every day, the train, jeep, taxi, the bus, even golf carts and bump cars which are not that famous are still affecting our lives in some way. The invention of the wheel ages ago could only have initiated this trend of amazing human accomplishment. That must have been the trigger to the invention of automobiles, wheels today as we know it have also had its share of advancement in its technology according to the application it is made for, it could be the wheels of a bulldozer, a truck, or it could just become golf cart wheels for all we know, but the manufacturing process of each defines an excellent display of technological brilliance the human brain can come up with.

Automotives have now become an indispensable asset to human life as we know it. Its applications cover up things that we never thought could affect us and in a way that we would never imagine it to. I might as well be talking about all kinds of things around us, like the furniture you just bought, the television, your computer, and even those ez go parts we have for our golf carts. Imagine how hard it could possibly be to import and export the raw materials to manufacture these things, not to mention all the stuff that made it possible to manufacture them like the machines, lights, and all sorts of things you can find in the factory.

The contribution of automotives to our daily lives just astounds us in practically considering all the things that we have to do without them. Without automotives and its industrial applications, we would be back to those dull black and white ages, how sad it would be for us then, I pictured how much they labored in building the pyramid and the Great Wall of China, how they have drawn out their strength to lift and transport those huge boulders and bricks. It just makes me realize how much thankful we ought to be for the existence of automobiles in our lives, may it be for the transportation of all kinds of stuffs including transportation of people that it provides us or just the mere fun it brings to us in sports or in recreation. Automotives have made its marks on our hearts, and we are thankful to God for the blessing.

Scrutinizing Parts of a Bulldozer

Bulldozers have always been useful in a way that it helps construction sites from less manual man-power labor and it also cut the the days of work shorter. Moreover, how does this machine works? I may help out in giving details out of the components of the bulldozer and the uses of its designating parts. Let us sort and scrutinize those pieces and understand how it turns out to be an important individual from performing an assemblage of a bulldozer.

This machine has undergone changes and evolved many times. As time furthers, bulldozers have developed into new machines that are competent enough to do things that the original bulldozer was not capable of. The changes during the period where it was still underdeveloped were: load tractors were constructed through the removal of the blade and large bucket volume; hydraulic arms which will rise and lower the bucket were substituted. This unraveled greater contribution for scooping up the earth and loading the scooped materials into the truck. Thus, important improvements included better engines, more reliable drive trains, hydraulics that will facilitate enhanced precision on manipulation of the blade and automated controls for better tracks. There is also additional equipment of ripping claw that breaks up pavement or loosens rocky soil.

In evaluating the build of the bulldozer, it has two main component blades. The first one which is the ripper blade is the one that is located at the back of the bulldozer. As its name stands for, the ripper blade is used mainly for ripping and breaking up constructions. This so-called ripper is the one that assembles a claw, in other form; its variety is single ripper blade or called shank, which provides good leverage for heavy ripping jobs.

The second blade is the dozer blade. It is located at the front part of the bulldozer and its main function is for clearing obstacles, or it may also be used for moving mounds of earth, sand and general debris. It has three distinctions which are:

1. Straight blade-short blade without lateral curves, or side wings. It is designated for agricultural and forestry work such as fine grading.

2. Universal blade-it is more statuesque than the straight blade and has defined curves and side wings which allows it to carry loads of earth and debris.

3. Combination of both straight and universal blade-shorter than the universal blade and has a less emphasis on curves and has reduced wings. This is useful for quarry like moving large quantities of rocks.

Fox Lake, Alberta : 3 Trucks + Front End Loader In Mud

Situation: Cliffy, for reasons unknown, decides to take his Subaru Outback on a trip through the Deep Lake Marsh. He does fine until he comes to a mudhole that he could have easily gone around but in the spirit of exploration decides to go right through it. (Thanks, Melissa, for egging him on) Thus begins an epic two day adventure. Cliff and party walk home and get me. I go out to attempt to get his Outback and get stuck. We walk the 15 kilometers or so back. The next day, Angus sets out to try to get us both out. He gets stuck. We get a Front End Loader from Public Works. It gets stuck. The adventure ends when a bulldozer crawls all the way out there to get all of our stupid asses and the front end loader. All in all, a fun two days.

Creativity: The Top 10 Ways to Increase Your Creativity

1. Be curious and follow your curiosity.

Ask until you understand why your corporation takes certain actions.
Discover why something is a particular shape. Find out why a process is
designed as it is. Explore a natural phenomenon until you fully understand
it.

2. Familiarize yourself with the lateral thinking techniques of Edward De
Bono and practice them.

Edward De Bono developed many techniques to stimulate creative
thought. A random selection is The Six Thinking Hats, Provocation and The
Random Input and many more. This is an unsolicited endorsement and the
author of this list has no connection with Edward De Bono.

3. Spend 20 minutes a day in a comfortable spot where you will be
undisturbed and let your mind wander wherever it will.

Using lateral thinking techniques we can generate creative ideas on
demand. There are other creative ideas which bubble to the surface given
time and quietness of the mind; they are the ones which this point
addresses.

4. Try a small measure of something which doesn't harm you in any way which
your preconditioning suggests you won't like.

Our innate responses are sometimes adversely conditioned by the
prejudices of others. Stretch yourself and discover whether your creativity
has been constrained by some of these.

5. Work to music that inspires you.

Classical music is usually recommended as the most effective. If this
goes against your grain, stretch yourself and see if it works (see point
4!). If not, experiment to determine what type of music is most effective
for you.

6. Take a break during a high intensity task when you find yourself stuck.

Do something completely different, even monotonous, for 10 minutes, or
if necessary commit it to your subconscious and sleep on it.

7. Actively seek different stimuli: At least once per month buy and read a
magazine completely unrelated to your career or business or usual interests.

You will find parallels to problems in the most unexpected places, the
areas of interest may be completely different but the challenge is
nevertheless the same and guess what - it's already been solved.

8. Go somewhere you have never been before.

It does not have to be exotic, just different. It does not have to be a
million miles away, it may be a facility in your city you've never
previously visited. If you are a city girl, it may be a spot in the country
and yes, for a country boy it may be the city heat and the asphalt. Don't
let these ideas limit you, take the cruise anyway!

9. Do what your intuition suggests.

For many of us today our intuition represents a muscle which is rarely
tested. Just like any other muscle, if you don't use it you'll lose it!

10. Carry a book or a mini tape recorder everywhere and capture ALL the
ideas your subconscious feeds you.

Reinforce for your subconscious its own importance and it will work
even harder for you.

Heavy Equiptment Training Schools Open Up A New High Paying Career

Nowadays there is a great demand for qualified heavy equipment operators because of boom in the infrastructure, construction and the mining industries. Most of the heavy equipments are used in the industries mentioned above and there is an acute shortage of qualified heavy equipment operators the world over and the demand for the heavy equipment operators has outstripped the supply. Therefore, a number of training schools have come up to cater to the growing demand for heavy equipment operators.

The heavy equipment operator training schools are run by people who have been in the industry for many decades and who are competent enough to teach you all about the heavy equipment operations. Basically the Heavy Equipment operator training program is designed keeping your utmost safety in mind and they are divided in two phases. One phase is known as the home study phase and the other resident training phase. The home study phase is very useful even for people who currently hold a job and the material provided by the school can be used as a reference guide. You can enhance your skills by sitting in your home, thereby reducing the classroom attendance by more than 50% and when you go onto the practical training part, you can totally concentrate on the critical aspects of the equipment operations rather than starting from the basics of machine operations.

These courses are lucid, easy to read and to the point. These courses are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council, Washington, D.C.The nature of work of a heavy equipment operator employed in the construction and maintenance of various work sites by the construction companies, contractors, public works departments and lots of logging companies vary from industry to industry, but the only thing common between all the operators is that they operate the equipment by moving levers, pedals, and switches. The Heavy equipment operator trainees have a variety of jobs to choose from after the completion of the course, a list of which is given below;

Apprentice asphalt plant operator, backhoe operator, bulldozer operator, dredging, equipment operator, excavator operator, grader operator, heavy equipment operator, loader operator, paving equipment operator, side boom tractor operator, road oiling truck driver, shovel operator, sewer flushing truck operator, snow-removal equipment operator, apprentice pile driver and a bridge worker. The working conditions are not so good, you have to learn to work in mud, dirt and noisy environments, almost around the year, but there are a few lucky ones who operate in air-conditioned and dust free environments, but then you are compensated by a handsome pay which is at least 20% above the average provincial salary. The heavy equipment operators are mostly employed by the construction companies which accounts for nearly 52% of operators employed and the rest is contributed by the mining, gas, agriculture, fishing, logging and the manufacturing industries. One can progress to a supervisory or a managerial position in due course of time with experience and skill sets to manage the Heavy equipment operators.
